Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Machinist)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and experienced Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Machinist) to join our Engineering department, where you will deliver both practical and theoretical sessions across a range of engineering units.

You will have a strong understanding of machining processes, mechanical assembly, hand fitting techniques and the maintenance of mechanical equipment. You should also be confident in teaching topics such as general turning, milling, and welding applications, as well as supporting learners in understanding technical information, working safely and developing efficient working practices.

✅ Ability to motivate and inspire learners
✅ Strong communication and organisational skills
✅Confident in delivering high quality, industry relevant training.

Essential Requirements:

✔Hold a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering

✔Have experience in a relevant industry and/or educational setting

✔Have practical skills and theoretical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and using a centre lathe and conventional vertical turret milling machine

✔ Hold GCSE A*- C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or equivalent

An IQA qualification is desirable but not essential

We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm, qualified in their specific subject area and who would like to pass their knowledge and skills on to our students.
