Work Placement Officer

Based at Wakefield College, with working at Castleford and Selby College when required.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Work Placement Officer to join our Employer Engagement team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work with employers across the region to create meaningful work placement opportunities, helping our students gain the real-world experience they need to launch successful careers.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing relationships with local employers to source high-quality work placement opportunities.
  • Matching students with placements that align with their career aspirations and course of study.
  • Building long-term partnerships with employers and acting as their key point of contact.
  • Preparing students for the workplace through employability sessions and pre-placement support.
  • Visiting students during their placements to monitor progress and provide ongoing support to both the student and employer.
  • Working closely with curriculum teams to ensure placements meet learning objectives and industry requirements.
  • Promoting the benefits of work placements to employers and supporting the growth of our employer network.

You will have:

·       GCSEs in English and Maths A*-C/9-4 or equivalent

·       A relevant Level 3 qualification or relevant experience

·       An understanding of Health and Safety principles, or be willing to undertake appropriate training

 

The role of the Work Placement Officer is varied, and every day is different with new challenges. You will get to meet and support students and employers as you co-ordinate the work placement process.
