Course Overview

V levels will be new Level 3 qualifications that offer a vocational pathway for students who want to explore different sectors before deciding where to specialise.

This new pathway will replace the wide range of qualifications that are not A or T levels and enable students to study a range of areas.

Each V Level will be equivalent in size to one A level. This means students will be able to combine V Levels with A levels, creating a programme that reflects their interests and career ambitions.

This brand new qualification will have a strong focus on careers and occupational standards.

Throughout the course, a variety of dynamic teaching methods will be used to support your knowledge and understanding of education. Lessons explore how people learn, the role of educators, and how different environments shape development. You will engage in discussions, research tasks and real-life case studies to apply your knowledge to practical situations. Due to the nature of the subject, lessons often include collaborative work, reflection on real educational settings and exploration of current issues in education. You will also have opportunities to observe practice, analyse case studies and hear from professionals working in education and childcare.

Whether you want to follow a traditional university route or pursue an industry-specific career, a V Level combined with other Level 3 qualifications like A levels or AAQs will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to do so.

This V Level aims to encourage motivation and interest in pursuing careers and further study related to education, by providing a broad understanding. I chose to study the T Level because it offered a work placement unlike other colleges.
