"I completed the Get SET course to increase my confidence and develop the skills I will need for future work.

I’ve been able to do a selection of placements, at Royal Mail, the Hepworth Wakefield and My Eco Baby. These gave me a good understanding of what different jobs entail and how different companies work.

I also did weekly activities at Featherstone Rovers Rugby Club, including first aid, smoothie-making and sport. These were very enjoyable and helped me to build a lot of confidence.

Throughout the course my tutors have been very supportive and have helped me to become stronger as a person.

I’m happy to have won the Get SET Student of the Year award at Wakefield College, and I’m looking forward to moving to the Preparation for Work course next year, which will give me more workplace skills and ideas for future career paths."
