"I have been an Apprentice Pipefitter for four years. I began by completing my Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering and have now progressed onto Level 3.
Before I began my apprenticeship, I didn’t even know what a hydraulic power unit was – now I work with them every day. Through my apprenticeship, I have developed a wide range of practical skills, including pipefitting, setting up pumps, testing pressure, and using lifting equipment. I really enjoy working here because everyone supports each other and is willing to help when something needs doing.
I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship. It’s the best way forward because you learn on the job whilst getting paid and gain a qualification at the end. It’s a no brainer in terms of starting your career."
