"I’m going on to study Criminology at the University of Nottingham, with the ambition of becoming a Detective within the Police force. Studying at Selby College’s Sixth Form was a better option for me in comparison to other colleges. I like how personable and supportive my tutors are, which means I get so much more out of my learning. Out of all my A Levels, I enjoyed Law the most, especially applying the legal system to essay questions.
I thoroughly enjoyed all my courses, but Criminology really felt like my subject – I loved learning about all its different aspects. I chose Selby College because it offered all three A Levels I wanted to study and has a strong reputation. My tutors were excellent and gave me brilliant support throughout, especially helping me develop my essay writing skills, which will be so important at degree level.
During my time here, I also had the opportunity to be President of the Student Union and went on a law trip to Amsterdam, which was a great experience. My advice to anyone considering studying at Selby College is simple: try hard and revise – it really pays off!"
