"I love that in this department we have our own building, the Mechanics’ Theatre, which is dedicated to Performing Arts. It’s a great environment, and because everyone is there with similar goals, we all support and show up for one another. I was very shy when I started college but this course has helped me to become more confident in socialising, and I’ve made lots of friends on my course.

We often go for trips to see shows at venues like Leeds Playhouse, and we’ve also been to York and London.

I have dsylexia and sometimes struggle with writing and reading, but my tutors Sam and Tom have given me lots of support with my written work. This course has allowed me to hear about opportunities and potential job roles I hadn’t thought of before and explore my own interest in costume design."
