This Apprentice will assists experienced CAD technicians in creating technical drawings and models. The role involves learning to produce 2D and may introduce 3D designs for various projects, collaborating with engineers and project teams, to ensure designs meet quality and technical standards.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Creating and modifying drawings:
- Using CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit to produce 2D and 3D models and drawings for various applications, including engineering, construction, and manufacturing.
Collaborating with teams:
- Working with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to understand design requirements and ensure drawings align with project specifications
Ensuring accuracy and quality:
- Checking drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and adherence to industry standards and company procedures.
Assisting in project documentation:
- Helping with the creation of project-specific risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documentation.
Developing CAD skills:
- Learning to use different CAD software, understanding engineering principles, and improving overall technical drawing skills
Maintaining drawing records:
- Keeping track of drawing revisions, issuing updated drawings, and managing drawing files
Contributing to design improvements:
- Potentially participating in design reviews and suggesting improvements to existing or new products
- The willingness to help with other office duties as and when required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The successful apprentice with enrol onto an Level 3 Apprenticeship programme with day release attendance required at Castleford College, alongside onsite visitis and observations by a designated apprentice
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Potential to move into a permanent role
