Information for Current Students
Severe Weather
In the event of severe weather, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. This page provides the latest updates on college opening arrangements, delays or closures during adverse conditions such as snow, ice or storms.
Parents and carers are encouraged to check this page regularly during periods of severe weather.
Where can I find official updates about a campus closure?
Students and parents/carers will be informed via the Heart of Yorkshire App and via text. Parents/carers, please ensure your contact details are up to date so you receive any urgent notifications.
Updates will also be published on the College’s social media channels and the banner of this website.
What shall I do if it’s unsafe for my child/ward to get to College?
If the College remains open but it is unsafe for your child/ward to travel to College, please report their absence via this form.
Will my child/ward still have classes if the College is closed?
Where possible, contingency plans are in place to provide online learning in the event of a campus closure. Details of these arrangements will be communicated by your child/ward’s tutor or curriculum department if so.
We pride ourselves on providing a high quality, confidential, impartial, and supportive Careers Advice and Guidance service.
You don’t have to let a lack of money stop you from coming to College. Funding may be available if your financial circumstances make it difficult for you to complete your College course.
These are the general term dates for our colleges. Some courses have different start dates - check with your tutor for definitive term times.
Your Students’ Union is here to support and represent you and is a big part of college life.
We are committed to doing everything we can to make sure all of our students (and staff) are kept safe and protected from harm.
