Course Overview

The Manufacturing Industry offers a dynamic and diverse range of career opportunities across the UK and internationally. From small family run operations to large multinational organisations, the sector is known for its innovation, technical advancement, and global reputation for excellence.
This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to operate effectively as a Lean Manufacturing Operative in fast paced, high quality production environments. Learners will gain an understanding of modern manufacturing processes, industry standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
This course prepares individuals to become skilled, multi functional operatives capable of contributing to safe, efficient, and high quality manufacturing environments.

What You Will Study

Candidates will complete a EAL Diploma Manufacturing (Knowledge and Skills) L2 and cover subject including:


•Work safely while adhering to strict Health & Safety and environmental requirements, including PPE, safe machine operation, waste disposal, and 5S workplace organisation.

•Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process controls that ensure products meet rigorous quality standards.

•Carry out manufacturing tasks across multiple product lines, adapting to varying specifications in industries such as automotive, engineering, or advanced manufacturing.

•Apply lean principles, problem solving tools, and continuous improvement techniques such as Kaizen to support operational efficiency.

•Conduct in process quality checks and escalate issues appropriately through defined reporting structures.

Candidates who do not hold GCSE or equivalents in maths & English may be required to completed functional skills alongside their apprenticeship programme.

  • Attendance Expectations

    One day per week.

  • How You Will Be Assessed

    A designated assessor will support you in making progress toward your End Point Assessment by helping you develop the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

  • Entry Requirements

    Candidates must have an employer who is able to support the requirements of the apprenticeship. Most candidates will also have at least Level 1 English and Maths.
