Throughout this course you will develop your knowledge and understanding of


• Mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have evolved

• How to support mental well-being through various stages of life

• Mental ill health, treatment options available and the potential consequences of mental ill health

• The skills required to work in a mental health service.

• Understanding the context of mental health and wellbeing    

• Promotion of mental health and wellbeing    

• Mental health problems: associated issues and consequences    

• Understanding mental ill health    

• Working in mental health

    There are no lessons to attend, though we would expect you to undertake 5-10 hours of learning a week.

    You will be assessed through a range of assessment methods, including short answer questions and longer essay style questions.
