Course Overview

This course is for learners who have successfully completed the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Women's Hairdressing, The course is designed to build upon those skills and knowledge gained on the VRQ and equip you with the work ready skills you will need to gain employment on successful completion.

What You Will Study

You will gain hands-on experience in: Client Consultation Cutting Colouring Styling Setting Plaiting and twisting one of the following options: Cut gents hair Salon reception You will be assessed not only on your practical skills and your theory knowledge, but also on punctuality, reliability and professionalism. You will work and be assessed on clients who are paying members of the public. As part of this programme you will complete one week on work experience in a salon. This may involve travelling some distance and working late evenings where necessary.

  • Entry Requirements

    Successful completion of the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Women's Hairdressing. If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.

  • Further Study

    On successful completion, you may choose to progress on to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing, subject to the successful completion of this qualification, evidence of progression in English and Maths, a successful interview and reference.
