Course Overview
The BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Music Performance provides students with the practical, technical, and professional skills required to develop as confident and versatile performers. As the first stage of a progressive vocational learning pathway, the HNC enables learners to develop subject-specific and transferable skills and prepares them for progression to the BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Music Performance.What You Will Study
Students will develop their instrumental or vocal abilities while gaining experience in live performance, rehearsal practice, and performance technology. They will explore composition, songwriting, and arranging across multiple styles, and gain experience with music production and studio recording. The programme also introduces professional practice within the music industry, supporting learners in developing employability skills, reflective practice, and a portfolio of performance work.- Attendance Expectations
3 days per week.

Students are assessed using a mix of practical, theoretical, and professional tasks designed to reflect real-world music industry practices.
- Entry Requirements
Minimum 64 UCAS tariff points from A Levels
OR
Level 3 Diploma in a related subject
OR
Those with previous experience or learning that is relevant may be eligible via our Accredited Prior Learning (APL) process for accreditation towards this course.

All applicants must complete a satisfactory interview.
