Course Overview
Beauty Therapy is a diverse and thriving industry that offers an interesting and rewarding career to the dedicated professional. In today’s competitive business climate, it is more important than ever for people to achieve recognised qualifications.
What You Will Study
It should be noted that there is a large amount of science involved in this course, in addition to which you will study:
- Health and Safety
- Customer Care
- Team Building
- Facials
- Make-up
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Eye services
You will be taught in our state-of-the-art salon, which is open to the general public and mirrors the industry; you will therefore be assessed not only in aspects of Beauty Therapy but also on professionalism, punctuality and reliability.
You will also be expected to complete one week’s work experience in a salon. This may involve travelling some distance and working late evenings where necessary.

Coursework/Exam
- Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade 9-3, including English or Maths.
OR
Successful completion of Level 1 Hair & Beauty.
- Further Study
On successful completion of the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy, you can progress to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Please note: if you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.
