“I am graduating with a foundation degree in Young Children’s Learning and Development. I have been at Wakefield College since I was 16, starting with a Level 2 Childcare course and working my way up to a Level 3 Early Years course.

I applied to the University Centre because I decided that I wanted to learn and gain more opportunities at my work, and I have always wanted to go to university.

It appealed to me because of the smaller classrooms and lecture theatre, and I feel that played a big part in helping me to gain more information. My tutors have been supportive – they were always willing to answer any questions that I had.

After graduation, I would like to be an Early Years Senior Practitioner. Because of my Foundation Degree, I have the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to progress to that role.”
