What You Will Study

The programme will focus on developing your employability skills and ensuring you are confident about going into the workplace.

You will continue to develop your English and Maths and IT skills.

  • How You Will Be Assessed

    Your Tutor and Job Coach will monitor and record your progress in the classroom and in your placement and help you compile a portfolio of skills.

    For English and Maths, you may complete controlled assessments and/or external tests, depending on your level.

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements as this course can accommodate and be tailored to suit your needs based on your current levels of English and Maths. This course is aimed at young people who have completed their vocational learning and are ready to explore the world of work.

  • Further Study

    The aim of Get SET is to help you into employment or progress on to our Project SEARCH programme.

You’ll have personal and group tutorials (called Goals) with your tutors, as well as further support from our highly skilled and dedicated team as needed.

On-site Starbucks

At Castleford College, there is a coffee shop on the first floor serving hot and cold food and drinks, including Starbucks coffee, for students and staff. There is also a large seating area for students to enjoy their food and drink, socialise and study.

Study Areas

The College has study pods where our students can study independently or with friends in their own time. These are designed to be sound dampening so students can work peacefully.
